HiPP Urgently Recalls Baby Food After Rat Poison Contamination Alert in Austria
The Austrian police, together with the baby food producer, HiPP, have made an emergency alert due to contamination of baby food with rat poison. This finding came when a parent bought a jar of carrot and potato purée in Burgenland; luckily, the baby did not consume it. According to the authorities, this product was contaminated with rat poison during transportation from the factory. As a result, HiPP decided to withdraw all its products in jars of purée from Spar stores in Austria, Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Parents are advised to inspect for any tampering signs on the packaging, which include damages to the lid, lack of safety seal, and unusual smell. They should immediately contact a doctor if their children exhibit symptoms such as severe bleeding and weakness.
